(New features, upcoming tools, and a new community space announcement)

Introduction

We hope you’re finding time away from the screen this summer. This month, we’ve got updates on new features already launched in AAArdvark, more new features that are coming soon, and a community space for growing your accessibility skills.

New updates in AAArdvark

Here’s an overview of what’s new in AAArdvark:

  • Easily open the page you’re working on in Visual Mode or on the live site using the new dropdown menu for URLs in the app.
  • Filter issue instances by page and manual review status directly within each issue detail page for quicker review and triage.
  • View page titles in AAArdvark, which makes it easier to organize your site projects—you won’t have to rely solely on URLs anymore.
  • User and team management settings were consolidated to make it more intuitive to add people to your workspace and then include them in a team for site access.
  • Scanning optimizations and faster scans for everyone
  • Improved cookie banner handling to help avoid issue screenshots where the cookie banner blocks important elements.

WCAG in Plain English now covers all AAA criteria!

Our WCAG in Plain English library just hit a major milestone: we now cover all the AAA success criteria. That means clear, human-friendly explanations for even the most advanced guidelines.

What’s Coming Soon

We’ve been working on two major features that should make your accessibility workflow more efficient.

Activity Logs will let you see who did what and when across issues and their instances. This helps teams track progress, verify fixes, and keep everyone informed about project status.

AI-powered Color Contrast Review will help identify real color contrast issues while filtering out false positives, so you can focus your time on actual problems that need fixing.

Introducing The AAArdvark Circle

We’re launching The AAArdvark Circle – a community space designed for freelancers, developers, and agencies who want practical guidance and real support with accessibility services for clients.

Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Live Q&As with accessibility experts
  • Templates, checklists, and step-by-step guides
  • A growing library of lessons and resources
  • A community of people who understand the challenges you’re facing

Whether you’re flying solo or managing a team, the Circle is here to help you build your accessibility skills and confidence without the guesswork.

What We’ve Been Up To

  1. Latest Podcast Episode: Quick Wins for Web Accessibility
The 25th episode of the AAArdvark Accessibility Podcast, where we dive into quick wins for making websites more accessible using WCAG’s Easy Checks, designed especially for non-developers.
  2. New Founder Blog Post: Digital Agencies Shouldn’t Wait for a Demand Letter to Care About Accessibility
“When we build with accessibility in mind, we’re not just checking compliance boxes – we’re affirming that people with disabilities deserve the same digital opportunities as everyone else.”
  3. Upcoming Livestream: July 2, 2025. Our next live stream is about testing accessibility using Firefox and the NVDA screen reader. Tune in to our YouTube Live tab or on LinkedIn to see how it’s done!

That’s a Wrap

That’s all for now, thanks for following along with what we’ve been up to! Have a great summer, stay cool, and keep building accessible sites. We’ll catch you in the next update. ☀️
